The problem is Wunderlist is now four years behind its competition, and time is of the essence. If To-Do does manage to one day capture all the best features from Wunderlist, that could be great. Microsoft To-Do has improved little by little, but it's still not all that impressive.Īs with so much of Microsoft's software, To-Do will probably continue to grow slowly, lagging behind competitors in core features but increasing its connectivity with other Microsoft apps all the time. It came out of the gate weak, missing many key features found in the best to-do list apps. That app first appeared in 2017, and in its short lifespan, it hasn't done anything wildly impressive. Meanwhile, Microsoft has promised to keep Wunderlist alive until it has incorporated all the best features from it, as well as requested features, into an app that will one day replace it, called Microsoft To-Do. In short, you can keep using Wunderlist without any worries about security, but you won't see anything brand-spanking new in it. That explains why Wunderlist still gets the occasional app update. Microsoft is, however, continuing to support Wunderlist in terms of providing security fixes to anyone who still uses it. Since Microsoft's 2015 acquisition of it and announcement to pull the plug on the app, the company is no longer building new features or enhancements. Here's the full scoop on what's happening with Wunderlist. They both offer more than pretty much any other to-do app on the market. I like Todoist better for personal tasks and Asana for business and teamwork, but explore them for yourself. If you don't already have one, I recommend you instead consider an Editors' Choice to-do app, namely Todoist Premium or Asana. It never became a walk in the park, but it never felt like I was just repeating things constantly. By the time I completed the game, I had unlocked all personal and compound upgrades. I wasn’t martyred all that often, and part of that was because I spent so much time tending to my flock. Combat is largely dodge rolls and swatting, there isn’t a huge variety of weapons, and it’s largely just a matter of replenishing and retaining your health to fight the big bad. The two sides of Cult of the Lamb work together quite well, and while the mechanics exist in two completely different rooms, it doesn’t feel terribly jarring when you have to keep setting out and returning.įor that matter, the rogue-lite part of the game is pretty straightforward. Getting to the end of a chunk of the four areas doesn’t take very long, but then you wind up with famine, and it becomes a rush to reach the end boss so you can feed your children. You have to return before your cult falls apart. What this means is that you can’t spend all your time on your crusades. God, if I have to die, you will have to die I will save you, then subsequently subjugate you. How dare they? You can either re-educate them or murder them, but letting them walk around isn’t a good idea. If faith drops too low, you wind up with dissenters who walk around raising questions about your word. No, you don’t have to be really evil, but it’s not a bad idea to be a little evil. You can have a bonfire or feast, or you can take your flocks’ money. Rituals range from marriage to sacrifice. You also need to keep their faith up by delivering sermons and performing rituals. I once saw a screenshot where it looked like there was a cook, but I was pretty thorough in my playthrough, and I never saw hid nor hair of one. You can get them to toil away and collect resources, but you can’t get them to feed themselves. The former is used to power up your lamb, and the latter allows you to upgrade your compound. You collect faith and worship from your followers. That’s all generalizing, of course, there are many approaches to Rogue-lite progression, but those are probably the most rote.Ĭult of the Lamb instead uses the cult-building aspect of the game to power you up. You either bring your experience back to spend on upgrading your abilities, or you draw them from a chest or a literal card draw. Your typical rogue-lite has you powering up through luck or currency. He of hungry, he of blight she of hunger, they of might Eat, my children, then stop mooching off of me. Don’t run away, though, it’s maybe a bit less dependent on luck of the draw. I’ll go out and bring back bones so we can have a feast.Ĭult of the Lamb is split between tending your flock and plumbing the four dungeons. Maybe I don’t care about Gods, but I do care about myself, so forget that other guy and worship me. I found it hard not to get wrapped up in the malice. You dance with your followers, keep them fed, watch them become friends, then just sacrifice them for your benefit. It’s this amazing mix of dark and cutesy. You gather followers who power you up through their faith and then set out on a crusade to kill the Bishops of the Old Way and release your sinister benefactor. Feeling a bit malicious, you do exactly that. Rather than die, you’re sent to The One Who Waits, an old god who asks you to start a cult and sends you right back to get revenge. You play as the last sacrificial lamb who was… sacrificed, presumably to avoid being sacrificed in a different way. When the lamb comes to raise, the end of days, the end of days I guess what I’m saying is: I could be swayed. However, no one has given me a rocking crown and evil powers like in Cult of the Lamb. In any case, I’ve had no interest in running a cult. There’s a quip somewhere in there about the Catholic Church, but I’m going to show uncharacteristic restraint. So, I don’t understand how anyone can convince anyone to sit through weird rituals and abuse for that long. When someone tells me they’ve got it all figured out, I’m not going to disparage them, but they probably know about as much as any of us here on Earth does: not all that much. But, I mean, stealing a cow or two would have probably been more innocent than what they were actually found to be responsible for.Īs a skeptic, I don’t really understand cults. Don’t get me wrong, they never stole one that he knew of, but you have to ask people if they’ve seen a cow recently. Anytime a cow went missing, he went over to talk to them. Their compound was actually right next to my grandfather’s cattle ranch. Some incredibly disturbing stuff happened. Before you go looking them up, just a warning: it’s definitely one of those cults. During the ‘80s, a cult named the Ant Hill Kids led by Roch Thériault operated near it. My family sort of centers around this town in Southern Ontario called Burnt River. Q: Are Screen Protectors Worth the Investment?Ībsolutely. The average screen protector is usually made of tempered glass, which sticks to the screen using static electricity so, no adhesive is required. Most screen protectors these days steer away from using adhesive. Yes, screen protectors can be removed in fact, some allow for multiple applications. Both screen protectors and cases often have information on compatibility. However, it's still important to double-check. This leaves plenty of options when shopping for the right case. Screen protectors, at most, measure as thick as 0.33mm. Would a smartphone like this be something of interest to you? Is a smartphone with a continuous wrap-around screen going to be practical for everyday use? Give us your thoughts via the TrustedReviews Facebook and Twitter feeds or the comments below.FAQ Q: Can Cases Be Installed With Screen Protectors? The duo of flexible displays could also present different content on different portions of the device, according to an example given in the patent.Īlthough this technology is not likely to be utilised in any soon to be launched iPhones, including the iPhone 6, the technology could contain huge potential for the future of smartphone devices. “In this way, an illusion of depth perception can be presented mimicking a 3D experience,” the patent adds. The device could also add 3D illusions too, by layering two flexible displays on top of one another, allowing the content to appear simultaneously but slightly out of sync. The projected visuals would then change according to the section of the device the user was viewing at the time. As the screen wraps entirely around the device, making it hard to hold without accessing some feature or other, the next-gen smartphone would utilise a user detection system where the person’s face was tracked by inbuilt cameras. Made entirely out of glass, the device could use metal columns or other metal structures within the device to provide additional support. “A flexible display can be folded in such a way as to form a continuous loop such that images (still or video) can be presented in a wrap-around manner in which the images appear to be presented in a continuous loop.” Instead, features like the volume controls, standby mode or call holding would be replaced by gestures, perhaps similar to the AirGesture function in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4. According to the patent, the flexible wrap-around display would take over all of the UI, as there would be no other buttons or switches present on the device. Smartphones currently on the market have components that limit the size of the screen and therefore the UI. “The requirement for a planar display and associated circuitry inherently limits the amount of surface area to single surface.” “Although this form factor lends itself to electronic devices that are aesthetically pleasing and easy to handle,” the patent reads. The screen would make use of the sides and rear of the device, expanding the real estate available for photographic content, icons, videos or anything else viewed on the smartphone. Initially filed in September 2011, the patent details a curved display smartphone with a touch screen encompassing nearly the whole of the device. Apple has patented a design for an “electronic device with wrap around display”, which details a wrap-around AMOLED screen with face tracking capabilities, potentially for use with it’s upcoming i Phone 5S or iPhone 6. Unlike the original Postal 2, which was a free-roaming, exploration-based game similar to the Grand Theft Auto series, Apocalypse Weekend is a linear, mission-based game that takes the player from one pre-set level to the next. War on Terror? Has Postal Dude's brain trauma given him the ability to see the hidden machinations of some bovine Ultimate Evil attempting to bring about the very End of the World? Or is it just a bunch of random elements some pea-brained level designers strung together on a shoe-string budget? Only the Postal Dude can find the truth.Īpocalypse Weekend is the single player expansion pack for the controversial first-person murder simulator, Postal 2. Could there be some connection between Postal Dude's visions, the evil video game publisher Whiptail Interactive, the recent mysterious mad-cow induced zombie outbreak, and the U.S. As the shiftless Postal Dude bounces from one deadbeat mission-based job to another in order to earn enough money to buy back his repossessed dog and trailer home, he finds that his self-inflicted gunshot head-wound is causing him to have periodic visions of a bizarre, grotesque parallel universe where the walls are made of flesh and blood and where he comes under constant attack from mummified demonic children that look suspiciously like Gary Coleman. It's not impossible, but it's still really hard.Apocalypse Weekend begins on the Saturday following the climactic Apocalypse at the end of Postal². You probably already know it, but you should lower the bystander population in settings.Įven after all I said, get ready to die. You can get dog treats, it's better to give them to dogs than kill the dogs, the treats also heal you by 1 HP, so you can use them as emergency food. I'm pretty sure you can't bring your catnips to apocalypse weekend, so don't hoard them and actually use them. Some last things: Catnips are really useful, I used this guide to find a lot of them. You will find some staircases, and at the of them there's a cop, kill the cop and sniper everybody you can see. When you get in the uncle dave level, follow the corridor until you find a passage to your left, covered by bushes, go there. The uncle dave's gift can be easily achieved with a sniper. I did this for about 20 minutes, until I had almost full health.įor some specific errands: The autograph errand can be cheesed by going to your left after entering the shopping, nearby the staircase, drop a grenade and ready your machine gun to shoot anything that uses the staircase. The cop respawned, ready to get pistol sniped again. After that, I leave the shopping and immediately enter it again. I sniped the cop with a pistol and rushed there to grab any food (if any dropped). Inside the shopping, there was a cop pretty far from me. If you ever get into something like that, remember that most enemies drop food. If I tried to leave the shopping, a cop and a civilian were outside, ready to kill me. If I tried to go anywhere in the shopping, one or two shots were enough to kill me. Remember that I said I struggled with the autograph errand? It's because I got into the shopping with about 15 HP. Now, how to get over a hard moment without health. My medkit advice was only something I did, so you don't need to strictly follow this advice. Yes, I know they don't heal 50 HO, but considering how much food the enemies drop, you might waste the medkit, considering food might be able to heal the little HP left to 100 HP. When you find a medkit, only use it if you have <50 HP, so you won't waste it. When you kill someone, it have a high chance to drop food. Another thing almost no guide out there says is dropped food. Before you get the sawed off shotgun, always stay in cover. Now that you know how to kill everything, it's time for learning how to avoid death. The only one who won't try to kill you is the confession priest (don't know what its called). Civilians, cops, dogs, talibans, priests, even Mike J himself. Everybody here hates you and want to kill you. Another errand I struggled was the autograph errand, not because of ammo, but because of health (I'll explain it later). Both moments are hard because you have no weapons, but pissing is harder, since you need to kill a bunch of dudes with scarce ammo. The hardest moments in the game are the first few moments in monday and pissing on your dad on wednesday. The earliest sawed off shotgun I know is in wednesday, in the right side of the police station, inside a bush. If you don't have it yet / have no ammo, use the machine gun. Briefly, the equation used in the calculator provided above is known as Heron's formula (sometimes called Hero's formula), referring to the Hero of Alexandria, a Greek mathematician and engineer considered by some to be the greatest experimenter of ancient times. As mentioned in the calculator above, please use the Triangle Calculator for further details and equations for calculating the area of a triangle, as well as determining the sides of a triangle using whatever information is available. There are many equations for calculating the area of a triangle based on what information is available. Unfortunately for the farmer, he lives in an area predominated by foreign investors with smaller feet, who felt that they should be getting more square feet for their money, and his land remains unsold today. The farmer's plot of land, which has an area of 21,780 square feet, equates to half an acre, where an acre is defined as the area of 1 chain by 1 furlong, which is defined by something else, and so on, and is why SI now exists. Tangent aside, the farmer's plot of land has a length of 220 feet, and a width of 99 feet. The foot was defined to be exactly 0.3048 meters in 1959 after having changed over an extensive period of time, as historically, the human body was often used to provide a basis for units of length, and unsurprisingly, was inconsistent based on time and location. The farmer also lives in the United States, and being unfamiliar with the use of SI units, still measures his plot of land in terms of feet. Because he owns some cows that he did not want frolicking freely, he fenced the piece of land and knew the exact length and width of each edge. Imagine a farmer trying to sell a piece of land that happens to be perfectly rectangular. The Farmer and his Daughter – Unsold Land The equation for calculating the area of a rectangle is as follows: When the length and width of a rectangle are equal, the shape is a special case of a rectangle, called a square. In the case of a rectangle, the length typically refers to the longer two edges of the quadrilateral, while the width refers to the shorter of the two edges. A quadrilateral by definition is a polygon that has four edges and vertices. It is one of the simplest shapes, and calculating its area only requires that its length and width are known (or can be measured). RectangleĪ rectangle is a quadrilateral with four right angles. Provided below are equations for some of the most common simple shapes, and examples of how the area of each is calculated. The standard unit of area in the International System of Units (SI) is the square meter, or m 2. It can be visualized as the amount of paint that would be necessary to cover a surface, and is the two-dimensional counterpart of the one-dimensional length of a curve, and three-dimensional volume of a solid. Related Surface Area Calculator | Volume CalculatorĪrea is a quantity that describes the size or extent of a two-dimensional figure or shape in a plane. Step 3: Mark a black empty circle on 5 and shade the line from 5 towards the right side until the arrow as shown in the figure.Step 2: In the given inequality x > 5, the value of x is greater than 5.Step 1: Draw a number line, mark 0, and draw equal intervals to the right and left, as shown in the figure given above. Solution: In order to represent x > 5 on a number line, we will follow the steps given below: Observe the figure given below that represents the following inequalities on a number line: x ≥ 5, x > 5, x ≤ 5, and x 5 on a number line. Let us learn how to graph inequalities on a number line. We can graph inequalities on a number line by marking the part that the inequality represents. Inequality is a mathematical statement used for the comparison of quantities. So, if you have chosen 1 as the scale, then mark 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on. Step 3: Mark the points at equal intervals.(Determining an appropriate scale depends on the factors of the given number) If you have to plot 50, you can choose a scale of either 5, 10, or 25. For example, if you have to plot 5, then you can choose a scale of 1. Step 2: Choose a scale depending on the given number.(You can also draw a vertical number line) Step 1: Draw a horizontal line with arrows on both ends.In order to draw a number line or to plot a number on it, we use the following steps. Observe the horizontal number line given below. For example, 3 comes to the right of 1, so 3 > 1. This means that the numbers present on the right are larger than the numbers on the left. So, we can say that on a number line, as we move towards the right, the value of numbers increases. The numbers to the left of 0 are negative numbers and the numbers to the right of 0 are all positive numbers. Zero (0) is considered to be the origin of a number line. Writing down numbers on a number line makes it easy for us to compare them and to perform basic arithmetic operations on them. A visual representation of numbers on a straight line drawn either horizontally or vertically is known as a number line.
